Multi-company access
Multi-company access allows the same user to work in more than one company in Onicloud. Each company has its own data, roles, permissions, and services.
A membership makes a company available for selection, but available features still depend on the user's permissions.
Default and active companies
- Default company: the user's primary company and the option used when another context is unavailable.
- Active company: the company selected for the current operation.
Important
Switching the active company does not change the default company. Setting a new default company also does not automatically change the company currently selected.
How it works
- An authorized user adds a company to another person's access.
- The company becomes available for that user to select.
- When the user selects a company, the platform confirms that the membership is still active.
- Subsequent operations use the data and permissions of the selected company.
- If the membership is removed, access is blocked from the next operation onward.
Adding a company
The person adding a company must have permission to manage memberships in that context.
After the company is added:
- it becomes available to the user;
- the default company remains available;
- a previously removed membership can be reactivated;
- roles and groups should be reviewed for the new company.
Roles and permissions
Adding a company does not automatically grant access to every feature. Review the user's roles, groups, permissions, and enabled services.
A company that already has an active membership cannot be added again.
Switching companies
When another company is selected, the platform updates the navigation context. Lists, reports, and other features then display only the data permitted for the active company.
If the user no longer has access to the selected company, the switch is rejected.
Existing users
Users registered before multi-company support may access their default company even when it is not displayed in the membership list. If the list is empty or incomplete, ask the responsible team to regularize the membership.
Changing the default company
Users can set a company they can access as their default. Administrators with global access can also make this change for other users according to their permissions.
A company without an active membership cannot be set as default.
Removing a company
Removing a company revokes access without erasing the membership history.
- If the removed company is not the default, the default company is preserved.
- If the removed company is the default, another linked company is automatically set as default.
- If it is the only available company, removal is blocked.
Company currently in use
If the removed company is selected, subsequent operations are blocked until the interface returns to an available company.
